STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES FOR THEMATIC AREAS

THEMATIC AREASTRATEGIC OBJECTIVE
1. ADVOCACY1.1. To ensure formulation and implementation of child friendly policies, disability friendly laws, systems, processes, social services and practices at all levels of socio-economic development in Malawi
1.2. To advocate for domestication of Child rights and disability inclusion international Instruments and Treaties by the State (UNCRC, UNCRPD, and ACRWC.
1.3. To promote Visibility, Voice and age appropriate and inclusive participation of Children in Malawi
 
2. COORDINATION2.1. To scale up Coordination of CSO’s efforts towards protection and promotion of child rights in Malawi.
2.2. To enhance coordination of CSO’s efforts in monitoring and reporting on the status of UNCRC, UNCRPD and ACRWC in Malawi.
2.3. To enhance sharing of information, learning and best practices among CSOs in Malawi.
3. CAPACITY BUILDING3.1. To strengthen the capacity of CSO’s working on child rights governance in Malawi
3.2. To strengthen the capacity of children Structures in areas of Child rights, inclusive child participation, child-led reporting on International child rights Treaty Instruments like, UNCRC, UNCRPD and ACRWC, child-led social accountability and advocacy, children parliaments at district and National Levels, Children forum at SADC, AU and UN levels.
3.3. Promote dissemination of UNCRC/UNCRPD/ACRWC guidelines and protocols, Concluding observations and national laws/policies to CSOs and communities in Malawi
3.4. To champion establishment and maintenance of Child rights database/portal in Malawi
3.5. To promote civic education and training to the Children and youth Structures like Children corner, Children Parliament and Youth Parliament.
 
4. MONITORING AND REPORTING4.1. To leverage knowledge on child rights in order to inform policy, programs and best practices in Malawi.
4.2. To monitor and report on the status of UNCRC and ACRWC through periodic reports like UPR, Child-led reports, CSO Alternative reports to the UN and CSO Complementary reports to the AU.
4.3. Monitor, analyze and report various forms of child right violation, neglect, exploitation and abuse.
4.4. To monitor and track public sector financing and expenditure for children.
