Public Investment in Children

Public finance for children in Malawi is the allocation, management, and utilization of financial resources by the government to address the specific needs and rights of children within the country. It involves budgetary decisions and policies that aim to promote the well-being, development, and protection of children.

NGO CCR as the coordinating body for all child CSOs conducts Child FriendlyBudget analysis together with other CSOs with support from its funding partnerslike; UNICEF and Save the Children. The Child Friendly budget analysis is done eachand every year in order to track how much the government is committing towardsthe investment of a child. By prioritizing public finance for children, Malawi aims toensure that every child has access to essential services and opportunitiesnecessary for their growth, development, and well-being

NGO CCR does the following to ensure that this program is achieved; · Conducts Fiscal Child Friendly Budget Analysis · Monitors District CSOs on how they track and influence child friendly budgets at district level · Conducts High Level Engagements with Policy makers to influence childfriendly budgets · Conducts Joint Post Budget Monitoring exercise
